Tyre fitting is precision work

The fitting of new tyres over the rims of your vehicle requires great care and precision. The rims must not be damaged when removing the old tyres. When fitting the tyre, utmost care is equally important as paying attention to the inner and outer side as well as the direction of movement. The balancing of the wheels requires truly maximum precision. For even an imbalance of a few grams can cause the entire vehicle to dangerously "wobble". Finally, the experts from Bosch Car Service take care of the reliable testing and programming of the tyre pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS). The staff at your Bosch Car Service also help you in the selection and purchase of new tyres for your vehicle. They offer you a selection of top-quality tyres from leading manufacturers that matches your vehicle model, type of usage, driving style and personal preferences.

Bosch Car Service handles tyre fitting with utmost care: Professionals team up with precision machines to ensure optimum results for the fitting.

Safely on your way, all year round!

The easiest way to identify winter tyres clearly is by the "snowflake" symbol printed on them. The key differences compared to the summer tyres, however, lie in the less obvious details: The first is a special rubber compound, which provides optimal grip for winter temperatures. Even the tread structure is specially designed for winter road conditions: Deep grooves provide the vehicle a secure grip even in snow and the fine sipes ensure that the tread does not become clogged with snow and ice while driving.

Thanks to the winter tyre tread, when braking, a vehicle that is moving at 50 km/h on a snowy road, comes to a halt about 7 meters sooner than a comparable vehicle fitted with a summer tyre. Further, the rubber compound of the summer tyres does not provide the necessary grip at temperatures below 7°C on dry or wet road. Conversely, driving with winter tyres in summer months is not advisable. As the rubber compound of the tyres becomes too soft at warmer temperatures, the tread wears off very fast and the braking distance becomes longer

All-year tyres? One instead of two?

All-year tyres having the 'snowflake' symbol may be also used for driving on snow-covered roads. Your major advantage: Per vehicle, only one set of rims and tyres need to be purchased. There is no need for changing tyres twice in a year and no space is required for storage.

However, there are a number of good reasons why the double set of tyres is the rule with majority of the vehicle owners: All-year tyres are always a compromise as regards driving properties. In winter, they do not provide such an optimal road grip nor such a good grip in snow as real winter tyres can provide. And at summer temperatures, they lose their tread significantly faster than the rubber compound of special summer tyres.

Whether all-season tires are still a sensible alternative in an individual case depends on a variety of factors. For example, if a vehicle is used less and runs almost exclusively at low speeds in city traffic, all-season tyres may offer adequate safety and, at the end of the day, also save costs. Your Bosch Car Service advises you and checks which tyre is the best choice for your vehicle.

Best service - during the service life of the tyre

A tyre life starts with individual consultation regarding the selection and purchase of new tyres and their professional fitting. The workshops of Bosch Car Service support you even thereafter with a professional service offering: From changing winter and summer tyres, to the regular check of tyre tread and wear, as well as cleaning and storage of your complete wheels, until the proper disposal of the old tyre. And since Bosch Car Service, at the same time, offers comprehensive repair and maintenance work, your vehicle is always in the best of hands here.

Our Expert Tip

Carry out regular tyre checks: First, check air pressure at every second stop for fuel. Second, depending on mileage, repeatedly check the tread depth and check the age of the tyres before changing the wheels.

Guide for tyre check is the "4 x 4 x 4" rule: You can drive optimally safe with tyres that have a tread of at least 4 mm, have the same tread on all 4 wheels, and are not older than 4 years.
